I just spent almost all of my day into the next morning working on the next Crescent Quest update, mostly the Christmas event for this year. It is in dedication to those close to me and all players of the game who have entered or will enter the world of Reltionus.

I know I have mentioned this before but I have a hard time putting into words how much I care for those who have played my (our) games, I'm always checking for discussions about them online and when I see someone enjoying the games I made they are always in my mind and I add things in the next updates I think they will like in relation to their comments. Throughout my life I was always punished so to say for showing my emotions so I had always kept them to myself for the most part until I met my husband Wolfie, he will also be helping my games along in the future even if it is with simple things.

Thank you to my eternal husband Wolfie who I care about more than anything else, to our close friends, to the players, to God, Jesus Christ, His Angels and Kami. All of you have given me the strength to pick up the pen and write, the brush to paint my creativity on the canvas of life. Bless you all.

Steam release frozen - Valve is unprofessional.

Hello everyone, updates for the Steam release of Crescent Quest are halted due to the unprofessionalism of Valve, apparently a community ban on a developers Steam account some how prevents the developer from using Steamworks fully making the developer not able to use their own discussions, events, announcements and more they rightfully purchased with the fee for uploading an app.

Keep in mind, this is a billion dollar company that allows user mods within the Steam community to ban someone. These bans are not given by employees but user mods. A single miscreant who licked Valves boots enough to become a forum mod is capable of shutting down entire businesses / companies / developers that put themselves on Steam. The developer account of, I don't know, FromSoftware could get banned and they wouldn't be able to, as an example, warn players of that online hacking situation that happened last year (or the year before). Why does a single Steam user with mod privileges have that ability? This is completely unreasonable, imagine banning someone for the right of their free speech and having what they paid for taken away, having their entire business on Steam taken away.

I have sent two Steam support tickets in with no response from Valve, I did get one response for a third ticket I made before these two, I asked what the reason was for the ban and the support agent said it was justified and completely ignored me. One of my new tickets was a data request for the ban, the other one was a message to the Steam Team of Steamworks asking if this ban truly is the cause of me not being able to use Steamworks (I know it is but I'm still appalled by it and wanted to question them on this decision). I really don't care if my game is on Steam or not, I will take it down if need be, if I decide to do this I will let Valve know I want my percentage of the money that's left that I earned, I don't care about the initial fee.

I want to let everyone know that this will not affect updates outside of Steam, I will be making my game available for purchase here or on another platforms and I will keep making updates as usual. Valve, a company that works with the undesirable SBI has been losing respect and support from many individuals and companies over time, some might say they don't need anyone's support but if you ban your entire consumer base for using the wrong words (if that's even what I was banned for) then you have an extreme loss of revenue and growth, it may seem unlikely but even the largest companies, businesses, corporations can decay over time and be replaced with new ones.

I will be providing updates on this situation. The current date is 8/11/2024.

Greetings, Companions and Crescent Knights, I have some Crescent Quest news. I have graphically updated the Crescent Quest Steam store page as well as adjusted the price for the game, previously the game was $4.99 now it is $9.99. The reason for the price increase was due to how much the game has evolved and looking at the value of other indie games around the same price. I mentioned in the past that this project was never about the money and it still isn't however I think it's a more than fair price for what it is and I can use the additional revenue for future projects which I am already working on.

The demo for the game is still up and more prominent on the store page and it will always remain there, the free version still allows you to experience some hours of Crescent Quest.

You may have noticed the game in your library looks different (and better, at least in my opinion) as well. I have also graphically updated the game there as well as other areas across Steam. More profile avatars have been added, some exclusive ones exist locally in the files for those who own Crescent Quest. Thank you all for your support and love for the world of Reltionus, let us keep this world here for all of eternity.

Dear Crescent Knights, this is an announcement regarding our past competitions and contests. I know not many were a part of them, the Blue Moon Cape contest has never been finished at the time of me writing this, perhaps due to the reward simply having a players name in the item description. Even if someone has found that cape perhaps they did not know there was a contest for it, from now on I will be doing the contests differently.

This is the first "Cressora Castle Contest" - a more elaborate series of contests that will surely allure you. Someone new has moved into Cressora Castle, a friendly old fellow who is a powerful mage from the north, he will provide more details to each and every contest as well as tell you who won each contest. If you are a winner of a contest he will also give you a prize, these aren't just in-game prizes though as some contests will give you real ones! As a contest winner you will be given an item (badge) on our site here, recognition in Crescent Quest to immortalize yourself, and the virtual or real life item.
Keep in touch, Crescent Knights.

The cafe version of Crescent Quest will be running a few versions behind the standard Steam version unless there is an upcoming holiday event in which case both will be up to date with the latest release so nobody misses out.

The cafe version will contain slight differences in the form of one character named Gaita who will trade you exclusive items which can then be transferred back to the standard version of Crescent Quest through your save file. Welcome to the introduction of Crescent Quest Mail where you can send in your own questions, ideas, or fan created content to be included in the mail bag. If you would like to submit something then email me at logan@timelierg.com. You can be anonymous or include your username along with the questions, idea, or fan content. By submitting a question, idea, or piece of artwork you agree that you own the rights to said work and also agree to give me the rights to use said work.

It is currently December 3rd 2023, let's read some older questions or ideas that players had before the introduction of Crescent Quest Mail. I will be paraphrasing within the quotes.

* "If I recall, this is a furry game so add an out of the place goblin girl who has her ------- ---- ----- ------- ------ ------ ------- like a two part cape."

~ From Anonymous.

I had to censor some of that there, it's rather... risque. Crescent Quest is indeed partially a furry game, you can play as yourself if you are a furry and use your fursona to truly be your spiritual self, I have been working on adding more variety when it comes to that as the anthro customization mostly just looks like a combination of a wolf and fox currently with no other options for other species such as avians, reptiles, dragons, insects like spiders, and so on. It's not too hard to make, I have my own self in the game as well that's inaccessible to other players, unless someone tries to name themselves after me... Don't get any ideas now!

Moving on to the suggestion, I simply cannot include that sort of sprite in the game! There is an age rating I must follow. However, I have added goblins to the game due to your suggestion, there's even a Christmas event quest with a goblin in it now, all thanks to you. The goblins in question don't have "two part capes" though, as you call them.

* "i thinkus there should be hp bars above the enemies so i know when they are aboutus dyus"

~ From Pongus.

Hello, Pongus. That was in the game at one point but I have since removed it, the HP would sometimes appear on top of the foes sprites. I have always wanted that feature in the game, it was always meant to be there but I never had gotten around to it. I would like players to react based on the amount of health the foe has, it allows them to strategize more and also have those moments where a boss and the player are almost at one percent of their health and they either pull through or lose. I suppose you could memorize the amount of HP a character has, aha. I will see if I can implement health bars again.

* "Will there be more kinds of trees to cut, fish to fish, and rocks to mine eventually?"

~ From Vorneus28

Greetings, Vorneus28. There are already different types of trees and ores I am working on now, so much so that they are already in the game data, I just haven't implemented them yet. There are no new types of fish, however. New species of fish will be added in the future. In a few days one new kind of tree and one new kind of ore will be added, it won't be the best thing to cut or mine and is for lower experience levels. In regards to mining, Crescent Ore will still be the most powerful ore you can mine and smith for a long time.

* "what is the rarest drop in the game and how long would it take to grind for it?"

~ From Mint

Hello there, Mint. I cannot give many details on that as I like keeping secrets out there, but there is an item underneath the Keedbalt Kingdom that is dropped by a certain type of creature. This item has a one in a million chance of being obtained after defeating said creature. Aside from that, as I said before, I would list off more sensible "rarest drops" but I'd rather not. I will let the players such as yourself come to the conclusion on this one.

~ End of the Mail ~

Thank you for your questions, I know it was a very small amount but this will serve as an introduction to the mailbag. Now that everyone knows they can submit mail and have it featured here there is going to be much more to read soon! Have a wonderful Christmas, Crescent Knights.

Hello Companions and Crescent Knights, due to the size of this next update I am looking for additional beta testers for a non-public release of the next version of Crescent Quest (1.6.0). The current amount of beta testers we have is simply not enough, but even so the public release of 1.6.0 will go well even if more testers don't show up, it's mostly just to cover more ground and fix obscure problems with the game.

If you would like to test this pre-release version of Crescent Quest 1.6.0 then send me a message.

It should be noted that since 2014, when Crescent Quest was first being developed, I was never keen on creating update notes. I feel doing so ruins the charm that some games would of otherwise had, the same can be said for Crescent Quest. Now, what I wanted to mention was that I never included everything within update notes, they never and will never include every little change made to the game and the same can be said for the other games I am currently working on. The update notes you see are mostly the more notable things such as fixes to the game regarding bugs, glitches, and exploits, you will never see update notes such as, "hey guys, I just added this super secret thing, haha" or "I just added a few trees to this part of the world", I just felt the need to say this in case some people thought everything was being included in the notes. The update notes are nothing in comparison to everything I add to the game in the background, there is so much content being inserted into the game that it would take me a very long time to include it all in a document.

There is an endless flow of dialogue, sprite, character placement, stat, equipment, drop table, script, internal, etc changes being made which you would only know of if you've played previous versions of Crescent Quest and compared them. As for the secrets I add to the game, I went overboard with them ever since 2014. Obviously, it's only a matter of time before someone finds them, either through legitimate means or otherwise. This depends on how many players there are actually playing Crescent Quest of course, but I don't expect players to find all the secrets there are for many, and I mean many years. I assume some will also think some content is unused when it's not due to the absurdity of some of the secrets and how well hidden (and in some cases hard to preform) they are. That's all, really.

I will begin to label the versions of Crescent Quest in a more orderly manner starting from 1.6 when I release that version, the "revision" counter I have already lost track of due to my memory loss I sometimes get and it's not even on revision four yet for 1.5. I'm certain the revision count is nonsensical at this point as well and I didn't label them properly. Here is how the versions currently look when you open the version information document. As of me typing this I have just realized I did not include the readme file in 1.5 so I will update it to include the file.
- Public Version History -

(1.0) - Anything before 1.0 is no longer available but is still mostly
archived, this includes versions starting from 11/10/2014.

(1.1)
(1.1 - Update 1)
(1.1 - Update 2)
(1.2)
(1.2 - Update 1)
(1.2 - Update 2)
(1.2 - Update 3)
(1.2 - Update 4)
(1.2 - Update 5)
(1.2 - Update 6)
(1.2 - Update 7)
(1.3)
(1.3 - Update 1)
(1.4 - Unreleased)
(1.5 - Christmas Demo)
(1.5)
(1.5 - Update 1)
(1.5 - Update 2)

As you can see this would look much more organized with a three number system, for example 1.5 Update 2 would be 1.5.2. I will start adding this new version system now.
