Hello everyone, updates for the Steam release of Crescent Quest are halted due to the unprofessionalism of Valve, apparently a community ban on a developers Steam account some how prevents the developer from using Steamworks fully making the developer not able to use their own discussions, events, announcements and more they rightfully purchased with the fee for uploading an app.

Keep in mind, this is a billion dollar company that allows user mods within the Steam community to ban someone. These bans are not given by employees but user mods. A single miscreant who licked Valves boots enough to become a forum mod is capable of shutting down entire businesses / companies / developers that put themselves on Steam. The developer account of, I don't know, FromSoftware could get banned and they wouldn't be able to, as an example, warn players of that online hacking situation that happened last year (or the year before). Why does a single Steam user with mod privileges have that ability? This is completely unreasonable, imagine banning someone for the right of their free speech and having what they paid for taken away, having their entire business on Steam taken away.

I have sent two Steam support tickets in with no response from Valve, I did get one response for a third ticket I made before these two, I asked what the reason was for the ban and the support agent said it was justified and completely ignored me. One of my new tickets was a data request for the ban, the other one was a message to the Steam Team of Steamworks asking if this ban truly is the cause of me not being able to use Steamworks (I know it is but I'm still appalled by it and wanted to question them on this decision). I really don't care if my game is on Steam or not, I will take it down if need be, if I decide to do this I will let Valve know I want my percentage of the money that's left that I earned, I don't care about the initial fee.

I want to let everyone know that this will not affect updates outside of Steam, I will be making my game available for purchase here or on another platforms and I will keep making updates as usual. Valve, a company that works with the undesirable SBI has been losing respect and support from many individuals and companies over time, some might say they don't need anyone's support but if you ban your entire consumer base for using the wrong words (if that's even what I was banned for) then you have an extreme loss of revenue and growth, it may seem unlikely but even the largest companies, businesses, corporations can decay over time and be replaced with new ones.

I will be providing updates on this situation. The current date is 8/11/2024.

Found this post on a /v/ thread about furry-made games, I decided to post some keys for my game there as I usually do. Others are starting to understand that the loudest "furries" you see online are just posers and have nothing to do with us older ones.

   

Greetings, Companions and Crescent Knights, I have some Crescent Quest news. I have graphically updated the Crescent Quest Steam store page as well as adjusted the price for the game, previously the game was $4.99 now it is $9.99. The reason for the price increase was due to how much the game has evolved and looking at the value of other indie games around the same price. I mentioned in the past that this project was never about the money and it still isn't however I think it's a more than fair price for what it is and I can use the additional revenue for future projects which I am already working on.

The demo for the game is still up and more prominent on the store page and it will always remain there, the free version still allows you to experience some hours of Crescent Quest.

You may have noticed the game in your library looks different (and better, at least in my opinion) as well. I have also graphically updated the game there as well as other areas across Steam. More profile avatars have been added, some exclusive ones exist locally in the files for those who own Crescent Quest. Thank you all for your support and love for the world of Reltionus, let us keep this world here for all of eternity.

Hello, Crescent Knights. I've been updating the game every month so far but I will be slowing down on updates after this one, I have two other projects I have been working on so I will be very busy! Shall we proceed with the update notes for Crescent Quest 1.7.8?

*Removed any prior events that were still ongoing.

* Removed a few experimental features and replaced the items from said features with other items. It saddens me that I could not add some of these, it had to do with item and Chyfrinx transferring to those other projects I mentioned. Maybe some day.

* Added a new town north of Eirafyl, it's not complete yet but at least you can get some Statue Remnants.
* Added more characters and things to see in Myrevane.

* Added an "Inspect" option under key items, allows you to read a longer description of an item. This is still being worked on and not all items can be inspected. Once used a prompt will open and you must write the item you want to inspect with all capital letters and with no spaces. You can inspect consumables, armor, quest items, and more.

* Added Cresanctus Stones around the world of Reltionus. You can travel between these stone platforms after the Cresanctus Legend quest. I will most likely alter the design of these stones, they are a bit too big, bright and they clash with certain areas.

* Hardcore Mode changes include an increase in damage taken and a lowered chance of dodging a move.

* Renamed all of the "travel" spells to "teleport" spells.

As you are all aware, Honey the Cat is my life so therefore I create a lot of Honey art, I'll post all of it here and will continue to add more to this post. Dear Crescent Knights, this is an announcement regarding our past competitions and contests. I know not many were a part of them, the Blue Moon Cape contest has never been finished at the time of me writing this, perhaps due to the reward simply having a players name in the item description. Even if someone has found that cape perhaps they did not know there was a contest for it, from now on I will be doing the contests differently.


This is the first "Cressora Castle Contest" - a more elaborate series of contests that will surely allure you. Someone new has moved into Cressora Castle, a friendly old fellow who is a powerful mage from the north, he will provide more details to each and every contest as well as tell you who won each contest. If you are a winner of a contest he will also give you a prize, these aren't just in-game prizes though as some contests will give you real ones! As a contest winner you will be given an item (badge) on our site here, recognition in Crescent Quest to immortalize yourself, and the virtual or real life item.

Hello Crescent Knights, welcome to Crescent Quest version 1.7.7. There's quite a few updates in here.

After the release of the The Winter Tribunal expansion in November 2023, the next expansion, The Ruins of Faerblight is here. Will you send yourself into the old, abyssal ridden city and claim the old crowns of Itckhazan for yourself? Many have left to do the same but have yet to return...

* A special event is here from June 7th - July 3rd, you can claim a Garwerie Isle Map for a limited time at the Cressora Town portal and use it at the port in Lusnayin City. This will be distributed once more in the future before it is entirely discontinued.

* A second event is here for this month, you can claim a Bucket of Rainbows which allows you to paint your crescent cannon a variety of colorful patterns. This item will return in future events.

* Speaking of event related items, whenever a limited time event happens that offers a discontinued item it may not feel special to some as this is a single player game, aside from screenshots and videos you can't show off your rare items and on top of this it may be difficult to prove that you got that item legitimately. This is where the "genuine item program" comes in, you can now post a screenshot of your character with said discontinued event item during the same event you got it from and have a badge of it on our site forums. This will only work during an event, not after! If you'd like to access our forums you can find the link to them in-game through the settings menu under key items.

* Added Hardcore Mode, this has been in the works for a very long time. When starting a new game and choosing this mode you will have the same game experience as Standard Mode but should you be defeated by certain bosses or during the final boss of a raid you will lose all of your experience in skills, certain items, all of your currency, your hardcore title and more. Upon defeat you will revert back to Standard Mode. While in Hardcore Mode you will also earn a new currency that can soon be spent at an exclusive shop.

* Added an interface with a compass, health and energy meter, and a sun and moon depending on what time it is.

* Added Stable and Unstable Golems, these can be found in the Sauldrabe Kingdom and require 1,972,334 Slaying experience to duel, you may be wondering what they drop but I'll leave it up to you to find out.

* Added a day and night cycle, this was in the game at some point in 2017 but didn't work properly but finally got it working for this update. The old one I planned to implement went by the system clock however this one works only through in-game time.

* Added the first raid to the game, this has been in development since around two years ago but has mostly been in my design and planning documents without anything done in the game itself until now. I removed a level requirement to access the raid because there's going to be a few players who want the challenge of completing content at low levels. I would recommend bringing some Abyssal and Blood (a new element) resistance.

* Updated the settings menu, fixing a save file now fixes it better and will give you any key items from any recent updates, this is so those with older save files can still experience everything such as the Crafting Kit and Crescent Quest Manual if anyone started playing before those items were introduced, this will also work for the new interface and icons.

* Altered the designs of many towns and cities across Crescent Quest, this is more than just a graphical or game detail update. I had a secret area south of the Keedbalt colosseum, it's been there since around 2016, this has been remade into a new town that requires one hundred Renown to enter.

* Fixed the backgrounds of specific duels.
* Fixed the Crescent Mansion quest, if you are stuck in it then check the hole in the wall by the door again.
* Fixed the Pendant of Greed effect working even when it's not in the players inventory.
* Fixed sign dialogue referring to an unused mechanic in the Keedbalt Station.
* Fixed specific barrels disappearing after searching them.

1. Obtain the limited event item of your choice in-game by participating in the event, the event and event item must still be active and obtainable, the event cannot be over.

2. Take a screenshot or video of the item on your character or in your inventory and then select the "Contact Us" button on the bottom of this page or any other page on our site, alternatively you can post the screenshot on our forums either in the Crescent Quest section or one of our game related boards.

3. If you decide to choose the "Contact Us" option then simply send a link to the screenshot you took.
